HurlingDC are a group set up in 2022 to run the Gormanston hurling tournament
We consider ourselves the custodians of the very special tournament and our remit is to ensure that this tournament continues to provide hurling in the winter months to so many children from Dublin, Meath and Louth clubs.
The Gormanston Hurling tournament setup in 1999 by Denis Forde to initially promote the game of hurling in North Dublin. Denis alongside Canice Reid have run this tournament for over 23 years. It is a hugely successful format and now includes GAA clubs from all over Dublin, Meath and Louth. The tournament caters for Hurling and camogie, children aged 6 to 11. It runs annually in January and February in Gormanton Co. Meath. The tournament has 30+ clubs, 160 teams and over 1800 children playing every week.
In 2022 Denis and Canice decided it was time to step away from the administration and running of the tournament. Members of Skerries Harps and St Maurs Gaa Clubs, the respective clubs of Denis and Canice, got together and formed a group to take over and run the Gormanston Hurling tournament.
